We would like to welcome Planned Pethood and Moka’ Cafe to the Meshcasting community. Thanks to Planned Pethood giving us access to their roof top, we will offer access to the Free Mesh for people visiting the Cesar Chavez Park this summer. It is our goal to have network coverage on Tennyson St. between 38th and 44th over the next few months.

Meshcasting will be releasing our new website this month. The new website will help visitors of the community better understand what we are doing and help them navigate through the Mesh easier.

Hope everybody had a great New Year. I believe 2010 will bring lots of good changes in the Berkeley/Regis area. Due to the weather and holidays we were unable to start building our mesh antenna on top of Planned Pethood. We start Tuesday Jan. 5 and expect to be broadcasting mid next week. We are making major changes on our website over the next few months. These changes will help people find out if they are in the mesh.

In 2009 Meshcasting raised over $25,000.00 in dues and private donations. 100% of that money went to purchase broadcasting equipment and servers for the mesh network. Now that we have a solid backbone for the mesh network, our focus is on purchasing Mother Nodes and repeaters to expand the Community Network. The more members we have the faster we can spread through the community. Even if you are not currently in the mesh, your membership will help us get there faster.
